A HEARING AT THE SACRAMENTO SUPERIOR COURT FRIDAY ADDRESSED A CAMPAIGN AGAINST A CO-ED BATHROOM BILL. THE DISPUTE IS OVER WHETHER OR NOT COUNTIES CAN WITHHOLD OVER 130-THOUSAND SIGNATURES THAT ARE IN FAVOR OF OVERTURNING A-B 12-66.    EARLIER THIS YEAR, OFFICIALS SAID THE REFERENDUM FAILED DUE TO A LACK OF VALID SIGNATURES, BUT UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION, MANY OF THE ELIMINATED SIGNATURES WERE FOUND WRONGLY DISQUALIFIED.    THE STATE IS ARGUING THAT THE SIGNATURES CANNOT BE TURNED OVER DUE TO VOTER CONFIDENTIALITY.  THE CO-ED BATHROOM BILL ENACTED LAST YEAR WOULD ALLOW STUDENTS TO CHOOSE BATHROOMS BASED ON THEIR SELF-IDENTIFIED GENDER. ARGUMENTS WILL CONTINUE THIS FRIDAY.
