Arsenic and Old Well Projects 10/8/12 10.25a AF

The Monterey County Board of Supervisors is scheduled to discuss a 12-year-old approval for the development of a well off of Highway 68 in Salinas.   The well, which was to supply areas homes with drinking water was found to have levels of arsenic far above the maximum safe level set by the environmental protection agency.     The board will decide tomorrow night whether to address the issue of the area on to the east of San Benancio Road now, or push it back to be dealt with in December.
