Monologue

Dr. Wallach starts the show today citing statistics regarding Medicare patients that are harmed in medical settings due to mistakes. Outlining that some 15,000 Medicare patients die in hospital settings. Also stating that hospice care costs for Medicare patients have gone up by 70% in recent years.

Pearls of Wisdom

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article that describes plans by the government to penalize hospitals for excess readmissions.
