traffic on highway 17 was brought to a standstill yesterday (thurs) afternoon, after a driver lost CONTROL of their vehicle and STRUCK the median then flipped and CAUGHT fire. the accident happened at around 1:30 p-m, south of redwood estates, and caused the c-h-p to close BOTH northbound, as well as one of the southbound lanes, while roadways were cleared. no injuries were reported and the cause of the accident is under investigation.
