This week marks the beginning of a major roadwork project in salinas. Highway-68 (near downtown) is set to be closed, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and again from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. the closures are scheduled to last through the 18th. The 5-mile-closure runs from river road to work street. in addition to that closure, westbound highway-68 lanes that connect to highway-1 will be closed, (until Thursday), from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. the highway-1 off-ramp to eastbound-68 will also close during that time. The closures are needed for repaving work.
