A man who was struck and killed in Salinas yesterday(mon) by a big-rig, has been identified. 25-year-old Derek allen abbott, a Kingman Arizona resident, died at the scene of the accident, which occurred on the on-ramp to northbound highway-101. abbott was struck by the truck at 3:30 yesterday afternoon. The incident caused back-ups in both directions on 101 during rush hour. The truck driver kept driving, and c-h-p is investigating the incident.
