Hungry Urchins Ci 10/25/19 6:30a

This is no Halloween horror movie but rather a case of climate change.

Hungry urchins are munching thru the California and Oregon kelp forests on the ocean floor at breakneck speed…  and multiplying faster than marine biologists can count.

The lack of kelp is having an adverse affect on the red abalone and star fish population that depend on the kelp for a food source. Biologists say the kelp is already struggling to grow because of the warmer waters in the pacific due to climate change.
