A woman was sentenced to 10 years and 8 months in a Monterey County Courtroom yesterday after admitting to human trafficking. 36-year-old Aaliya Solange Person was arrested after a 17-year-old girl being forced to prostitute herself was found stranded in a Monterey hotel room. Person was linked to the girl through evidence found at her residence. She had reportedly stranded the young runaway at the hotel to collect money that the girl owed to a pimp associated with Person in Oakland. Person’s nearly 11 year sentence was outlined in her plea deal with the court. The teen has been reunited with her family in the Bay Area.
