A 16 year-old south Monterey county high school student will not only be graduating early this year from high school, she’ll also be graduating from Hartnell College with 4 associate’s degrees….and she’s a first-generation college student in her family. With her weighted GPA of 4.6, Leily Garcia plans to attend UCLA in the fall, where she’ll study biology (before attending medical school).
She will be starting at UCLA partway through her sophomore year.
In part she has been able to get through all this schooling so quickly because she took part in Soledad High School’s concurrent dual enrollment programs
