A bill that is designed to help out the farming industry has some recent changes.
Dave Puglia, CEO of Western Growers explains.
“[H.R. 4916] solves our agricultural employment dilemma with respect to immigration. There’s also a new provision that provides relief to farmworkers who haven’t worked for some period of time because they have been either sick because of COVID or isolated because of COVID exposure. Basically, the provision makes sure that’s not held against them in their eligibility for the program.”
H.R. 4916 has strong bipartisan support and could also provide a path to citizenship for those who maintain certified agricultural worker status.
