In Santa Clara County… public and private non profit efforts to help homeless vets are finally paying off.
16-hundred veterans have been housed since an aggressive effort to get them off the street began in 20-15. It’s a joint effort of a number of different agencies that have recruited local landlords to step up and rent to veterans.
An average of 31- veterans each month are housed in Santa Clara county and homeless advocates say they get around 22-requests a month from homeless vets seeking shelter.
