Homeless Offensive 10-29-18 14:40 DC

The leader of a Santa Cruz homeless rights group says it appears the city is trying to make the homeless and the problems they cause literally just go away. Keith McHenry of the group “Food Not Bombs” says that is the impression given by decreases in winter shelter beds and new fences around the post office and some downtown parks intended to keep homeless people out.

McHenry says demand for his group’s free meal distribution program is growing. He fears what a predicted cold, rainy winter might bring to those with no housing.
