A homeless Salinas man was almost killed by a bulldozer after he was dumped Monday from a dump truck at the Sun Street Transfer Station. The trash was from a cleanup of Salinas Chinatown and the man was collected with the trash.
The man, who may have entered a dumpster looking for his property, was hauled to the transfer station where a heavy-duty trash compactor bulldozer proceeded to push the pile of trash around.
A worker noticed something moving in the pile, which turned out to be the homeless man, who was able to walk himself to an ambulance after he was rescued
