ON FRIDAY, CITY AND COUNTY OFFICIALS JOINED WITH ADVOCATES OF THE HOMELESS, TO CELEBRATE THE HOMELESS RECUPERATIVE CARE CENTER, SET TO OPEN TODAY (Monday 16th) ON THE HOMELESS SERVICES CENTER CAMPUS. THE 12-BED, 24-HOUR SHELTER WILL PROVIDE CARE FOR THOSE PEOPLE REFERRED BY MEDICAL PROVIDERS AND SOCIAL WORKERS. INCLUDED IN THE PROGRAM ARE MEALS, HOUSEKEEPING, TRANSPORTATION AND OTHER AMENITIES. THE 1-POINT-9 MILLION DOLLAR PROJECT ALSO INCLUDED THE RENOVATION OF PAGE SMITH COMMUNITY HOUSE, AN 18-MONTH TRANSITIONAL HOUSING PROGRAM, LOCATED ADJACENTLY TO THE CARE CENTER.
