A homeless advocate at the Santa Cruz shelter on river street filed a formal complaint with county health department over an outbreak of skin parasites and the lack of showers at the shelter.
The county is investigating the complaint but claims this is the first they’ve heard of the outbreak.
Meanwhile… a U.S. district judge dismissed “quintero vs. City of santa cruz” after the self-represented plaintiffs, including several homeless and previously homeless individuals, missed court document filing deadlines.
