Several Hollister residents have received another round of “robocalls”, or calls placed by a computer.
The initial round of robocalls which took place earlier this month, included a message attacking incumbent Mayor of Hollister Ignacio Velazquez.
While the message within these calls remained the same, Mayor Velazquez’s personal phone number was attached to the caller ID within the second round of robocalls.
His opponent states no involvement of this matter, meanwhile the mayor has contacted election and security personnel to investigate possible violations of federal law, including the use of robocalls to reach cell phones.
