A special needs student had to be rescued at a Hollister softball diamond recently. The rescue took place on January 15th when the student climbed to the top of a backstop and could not safely climb back down. A Hollister police officer climbed the backstop to assist the student when the fire department deployed a scissor lift to bring them to safety.
