the hollister city council unanimously agreed to continue with a redevelopment agency and opting in to the state’s new guidelines. the california state budget calls for the dissolving of redevelopment agencies but allows for the municipalities using them to continue under an alternate program. for hollister, opting in to the new program means paying a one-time fee of 4-million dollars, which could be paid by having the state withhold 2-million dollars per year in housing funds.
