The suspect in a Hollister hit and run that killed a 20-year-old woman earlier this week is behind bars today.
Matthew Echevarria faces charges of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, driving under the influence of drugs causing injury… and hit and run from an injury collision.
The victim is identified as Halie Elliot, who is believed to be a Hollister resident. She was hit on the 1500 block of Hillcrest road Monday evening. Hollister police credit witnesses for their help in tracking down the suspect.
