The city of Hollister is looking for a new city manager after Paul Eckert suddenly resigned just after accepting the job.
Hollister mayor Ignacio Velazquez says that he can’t reveal exactly why Eckert quit but said there was a smear campaign against him.
Eckert was involved in a 2004 case of sexual misconduct at his former job in Sioux City, Iowa. But the mayor says that he was cleared of any wrongdoing… and he was disappointed in the resignation and felt that Eckert should have kept the position.
