The Second Harvest Food Bank held a kick-off luncheon at the Cocoanut Grove in Santa Cruz today for it’s annual holiday food drive. Over 300 community leaders, business managers and owners attended the event, along with representatives from 5 organizations who talked about why they contributed to the Second Harvest Food Bank, and how much the organization helps those in need. The food bank’s goal this year is to raise the equivalent of 3.5 million meals, the same as last year’s goal. Last year the food bank brought in 3.6-million meals. This year’s drive runs through January.
