A fallen tree closed Highway 9 in Santa Cruz Mountains on Saturday. One person was trapped in a vehicle and over a thousand households were without power when the tree came down between Ben Lomond and Brookdale. Fire fighters extricated a motorists pinned inside a vehicle while utility crews cut power to the downed powerlines. The roadway was reopened about 5 p-m, how ever much of area was with out power into Sunday.
