(12:13) SALINAS- The westbound lanes of Highway 68 were closed due to a fatal accident Friday afternoon. The lanes were closed for a CHP investigation after an 89 year old woman attempted to make a U-turn and was broadsided by car driven by a 16 year old male. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, the teen was uninjured. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the accident.
