The 6 people, who fastened themselves to weighted trash cans on Highway 17 (near Ocean Street) in Santa Cruz recently, appeared in a Santa Cruz County court room this morning. Although 2 entered please of Not Guilty, the other 4 did not enter pleas. Their defense attorney said the prosecution wants the 6 to plead guilty and pay restitution. Among other expenses, 85 First Responders were called to the scene during the 5-hour protest.
