Southbound Highway 17 commuters had to endure a nightmare of a ride last evening when the roadway was shut down for more than four hours following a fatality accident.
Motorists were turned around and made to take a long detour because of the closure southbound near Redwood Estates at around 5:30.
According to the c-h-p, the driver was speeding and driving erratically when he smacked into a tree and was ejected from his vehicle and died at the scene. There were no other injuries… the accident is under investigation.
