A 65-year-old man was injured in a car accident on highway-129 early tuesday morning. the victim was driving westbound, when he slammed into a water truck that was waiting to make a turn near Thompson road. the driver of the water truck was not injured, however the 65-year-old merced man suffered major injuries. he was transported by ground ambulance to santa clara county trauma center. highway-129 was closed for about 2 hours following the 6:10 a.m. accident.
