A SANTA CRUZ CITY SCHOOLS LEADER HAS EXPRESSED CONCERN THAT THE NEXT PHASE IN THE HIGHWAY 1 WIDENING PROJECT WILL AFFECT STUDENTS AR HARBOR HIGH. TRUSTEE JOHN COLLINS HAS QUESTIONED THE IMPACT OF TRAFFIC NOISE AT THE SCHOOL AS CALTRANS PREPARES TO DISMANTLE THE LA FONDA AVENUE BRIDGE THIS SPRING. A PUBLIC MEETING IS PLANNED FOR JANUARY 5TH FOR REPRESENTATIVES FROM CALTRANS, THE SANTA CRUZ COUNTY REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION AND THE SCHOOL DISTRICT TO FINALIZE A DEAL FOR CALTRANS TO LEASE AREA NEAR THE CAMPUS. THAT MEETING IS SLATED FOR 9:30 A.M. AT THE HARBOR HIGH LIBRARY.
