Highway 1 in Monterey was blocked by a mudslide today. The mudslide occurred at 2:10 p.m. when two trees fell during the heavy rain. Southbound lanes were blocked by the slide close to where Highway 1 intersects with Highway 68. As a result, CHP closed down the Highway 1 ramp that connects to westbound Highway 68. Also, there were reports of trees down on 17 mile drive near Highway 68 in Pebble Beach around 2 p.m.
