The National Weather Service has issued a High Surf Advisory, which is in effect from noon today, until 9 pm tomorrow. 8 to 12 foot waves can be expected during the day today, building to 10 to 13 feet into tomorrow. Breaking waves of 15 to 20 feet are possible in the surf zone. The largest waves are likely late tonight and tomorrow morning. There is an increased risk of rip currents, that can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Waves will run up beaches faster than usual. Sea surface temperatures in the mid to upper 50s will cause hypothermia in a short amount of time, and it is recommended that people never turn their back to the ocean!
