It remains to be seen if the historic recreation of trap and skeet shooting, that took place in the Pogonip (where the Homeless Garden Project plans to move their farm to), will cause a permanent problem for the site. The concern is that the contaminated remnants of the clay pigeons contain lead and a carcinogenic compound known as Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons. The cost of the potential environmental clean-up could be more than $100,000.
