The streak of sunny days is coming to an end this week. Starting Tuesday night, rain is expected for the Santa Cruz and Monterey areas.
David King, meteorologist for the National Weather Service told KSCO that the rain will start Tuesday evening for the Monterey Bay area with showers starting in the San Francisco Bay area earlier that day.
King stated that rainfall amounts are predicted at 1 to 1.5 inches for lower laying areas, with mountain ranges projected to receive upwards of 2 inches.
As the rain is going to be heavy at times, motorists are advised to slow down and use their headlights in times of reduced visibility as roads will be slick.
