Jury selection in the trial of a 45-year-old man accused of killing his parents began on Monday. In June 2013, James Roland Henderson allegedly ran his 71-year-old father down in the driveway of his parents’ Aptos home and beat his mom to death. The legal proceedings have been delayed in part because of Henderson’s mental competency. In 2015, a jury could not decide whether Henderson was competent to stand trial.
