There’s a Heat Advisory in effect today and tomorrow in the San Francisco and Monterey Bay Areas. Temperatures are expected to be in the high 80’s and low 90’s near the coast, and into the triple digits in the inland areas. People are encouraged to stay indoors when they are able.
The most common signs and symptoms of Heat Exhaustion include:
- Confusion
- Dark-colored urine (a sign of dehydration)
- Dizziness
- Fainting
- Fatigue
- Muscle or abdominal cramps.
- Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
The most common symptoms of Heat Stroke:
- Throbbing headache.
- Dizziness and light-headedness.
- Lack of sweating despite the heat.
- Red, hot, and dry skin.
- Muscle weakness or cramps.
- Nausea and vomiting.
- Rapid heartbeat, which may be either strong or weak.
- Rapid, shallow breathing.
