A hearing was held in Monterey County yesterday to address the conditions of the release of a sex offender. Eldridge Chaney Junior was convicted of raping several women in Seaside in the 1970’s and 80’s. He has since completed a treatment program for violent sexual predators at a state mental hospital. Monterey County is now seeking housing for Chaney. The County plans to finalize a location by June. The community will be notified when a decision is reached.
