Santa cruz county health officials have again detected high bacteria levels at a couple of city beaches. Water samples from Cowell beach west of the wharf, and main beach from the coconut grove to the san Lorenzo river, revealed bacteria levels that are higher than the level considered safe for swimming. The beaches are posted with warning signs, which will be removed when bacteria levels subside.
