A WHITE SUBSTANCE, SEEN EARLY THIS MORNING IN SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, TURNED OUT TO BE AN ACID, AND WAS NEUTRALIZED WITH SODIUM BICARBONATE. THE CITY GARBAGE TRUCK, THAT WAS CARRYING THE SUBSTANCE, WAS TAKEN TO THE CITY’S LANDFILL, AND THE SUBSTANCE WAS EMPTIED. THE 2 SANTA CRUZ CITY WORKERS (WHO WERE IN THE TRUCK AT THE TIME) INITIALLY SAID THEY HAD TROUBLE BREATHING, BUT THEY LATER REFUSED MEDICAL TREATMENT.
