A violent attack in Watsonville where a man is hospitalized following an assault with a hatchet.
Initial reports say two men were walking along the Pajaro River levee near east riverside and Blackburn streets when a hatchet wielding man confronted them.
It’s unclear at this time if the victim and suspect knew each other but the suspect is still on the loose.
Any witnesses are asked to contact the Santa Cruz county sheriff’s office.
