Monterey Bay officials are reminding the public to respect harbor seals as pupping season gets underway. Residents are being advised following a reported incident in Pacific Grove, where three men were seen running through a group of harbor seals on Hopkins Beach. There is currently a fence that separates the public from the seal habitat. Public works officials say they will soon put up additional fencing and signage to prevent further intrusion. Anyone who is caught disturbing the harbor seals will be subject to fines and penalties.
