According to the results of the last 2 counts of the Harbor Seal population in Pacific Grove….their numbers are down. In 2014 there were reportedly 700 of the marine mammals, and this year there were only 500. It’s thought that the warm water conditions (that drove their food sources further out to sea) has caused starvation issues in both the Harbor Seal and Sea Lion populations…..especially among the pups of both species.
