A Salinas High School student was recognized for using her C.P.R. training to help save a life. On August 10th, high school senior Celeste Colantro was at Del Monte Beach when she helped another person do C.P.R. on a young person who initially had no pulse. Once they had done compressions for a bit the victim regained a pulse and started breathing, and the ambulance arrived and the ambulance crew took over. AMR presented Colantro with certificates and gifts last night at the Salinas Union High School District Board Of Trustees meeting. The attendees of the meeting gave her a “Standing Ovation”.
