A recently rescued gull was released back into the wild yesterday. The gull was found with multiple fishhooks in his face, beak, and wing…..when he was seen in the yard of a seaside home earlier this month. The gull was cared for, and rehabbed by, the S.P.C.A. Monterey County Wildlife And Rehabilitation Center. The hooks made it impossible for him to eat or drink. After some treatment they were able to sedate him and remove the hooks, and then they needed to rehab him. He was released back into the wild at Seaside State Beach.
