Guilty verdict, ’08 soccer game shooting 11/01/11 4p.m. TDH

A 20-year-old man was found guilty today, of murdering an 11-year-old girl in 2008.   Ezekiel lopez-figueroa was 17 at the time of the shooting, which took place at a soccer game at king city high school.  lopez-Figueroa shot into a crowd of people, and hit 11-year-old esther rubio.  She later died from her injuries.   Her then-15-year old brother was wounded in the attack and later recovered.    Lopez-figueroa Faces 50 years to life in prison, he is set to be sentenced on December 9th.   In addition to the murder conviction, lopez-figueroa was found guilty of attempted murder, assault with a firearm, and participating in a criminal street gang.
