The Greenfield City Council has unanimously voted to stop city all use of the weed killer Roundup and replace it with “greener” alternatives.
On Tuesday, members of Safe Ag Safe Schools – also known as SASS — and Greenfield residents attended the city council meeting to voice demands for stronger pesticide regulations in and outside the city.
SASS members said they hope the anti-Roundup initiative can move to other cities and school districts in Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties.
