A fatal collision this morning in South Monterey County caused a traffic standstill after northbound lanes on Highway 101 near Underwood Road were closed during the majority of the morning commute. The accident occurred just before 7 a.m. after several vehicles involved ended up in the center divide. C-H-P has confirmed one person died in the collision. One lane remained closed as of 10 o’clock this morning.
