A Gray Wolf that was born in the mount hood area of Oregon has wandered into San Benito county. OR-93 traveled down the central valley of California and then headed west to get here, crossing highway 99 and 5 on the way. It remains to be seen how long OR-93, who is looking for a mate, will stay in the area. He is the first known wolf to make it this far southwest since the 1800s. Wolves are protected under the California Endangered Species Act.
