the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control has awarded a grant to the Watsonville Police Department to reduce alcohol-related crimes and issues in the city, this includes preventative and educational programs such as LEAD (Licensee Education on Alcohol and Drugs) training. the a-b-c will be holding a 4 hour LEAD seminar at the Watsonville Community Room located on the 4th floor of the Civic Plaza, 275 Main Street, on March 18th from 12 PM to 4 PM. This workshop is free of charge. Local business owners with alcohol licenses and/or their employees are encouraged to attend. a Certificate of Completion will be issued to those participants who attend and complete the course.

THE 5 adults ARRESTED were cited for purchasing THE alcohol and released. The police reports will be forwarded to the Santa Cruz County District Attorney’s Office for filing. The King City Police Department is asking for the communities help REGARDING A STABBING THAT TOOK PLACE LAST WEEK. AT ABOUT 5:40 P-M , WEDNESDAY THE 12TH, POLICE RECEIVED REPORTS OF A FIGHT ON THE 4-HUNDRED BLOCK OF DIVISION STREET. A short time later, a 21 year old King City resident showed up at Mee Memorial Hospital, suffering from several stab wounds. POLICE ARE ASKING ANYONE WHO MAY HAVE WITNESSED THE INCIDENT OR HAS ANY INFORMATION ON THE STABBING TO CONTACT THE KING CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT.
A KING CITY MAN WAS ARRESTED LAST WEEK ON BURGLARY AND DRUG CHARGES. AN INVESTIGATION OF A MARCH 11TH BURGLARY ON THE 2-HUNDRED BLOCK OF BROADWAY STREET LED TO THE ARREST OF 25 YEAR OLD JOSE ALEJANDRO GONZALES. AS A RESULT THE KING CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT RECOVERED STOLE PROPERTY FROM OTHER BURGLARIES, AND ARE ASKING VICTIMS OF RECENT CRIMES TO CONTACT THE DEPARTMENT TO CLAIM RECOVERED PROPERTY.
4 MEN WERE ARRESTED ON GANG AND GUN CHARGES IN SALINAS FRIDAY NIGHT. THE INCIDENT TOOK PLACE AT AROUND 8:10 P-M ON THE 17-HUNDRED BLOCK OF HUMBOLDT STREET, WHEN OFFICERS FROM THE VIOLENCE SUPPRESSION UNIT ATTEMPTED A VEHICLE STOP. THE CAR SPED OFF AND A SHORT CHASE ENSUED. WHEN THE DRIVER, 23 YEAR OLD ANTONIO ROSILLO PULLED OVER, 22 YEAR MIGUEL AMEZCUA AND 18 YEAR OLD RIGOBERTO AMEZCUA RAN FROM THE CAR ,AND WERE CAPTURED WITH A CONCEALED FIREARM. ALSO IN THE VEHICLE WAS 19 YEAR OLD JORGE HUNTER. ALL 4 MEN WERE BOOKED INTO MONTEREY COUNTY JAIL.
