Doug Winfrey and Ben Fuchs discuss butyrate production in the human body. Ben asserts that you can actually eat butyrate in the form of butter. Butyrate is known to help the body reduce inflammation which is associated with most health challenges. Inflammation is the body's stress responsed to something entering that it sees as a threat.

Dr. Joel Wallach begins the show today discussing failed medical theories. Going back to when people believed that disease was caused by evil spirits. Many later believed it was whether the Gods like them or not. Then it was the four basic humours were out of balance which led to blood letting. Later on it was bacteria, then viruses and now genetic. Doc asserts they are all failed theories and disease is linked to inflammation which is due to nutritional deficiencies.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article about a study of fast food. Researchers gave a group of South Africans a fast food diet of meat and fried foods for two weeks. At the same time they gave African American in Pittsburgh a typical African diet of cornmeal, porridge and root vegetables. After two weeks the group eating the western diet were producing half of a substance called butyrate which helps the body reduce inflammation. The group eating the African diet their microbiomes were producing twice the amount of butyrate than before the change.

Asserting that things like type 2 diabetes can be dealt with at home by changing lifestyes. Stating the same is true for other common health challenges like obestiy and weight gain.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article on 4 natural ways to lower blood pressure. First cut back on work a University of California found those working 41 or more hours per week can increase blood pressure. Exercise such as a brisk 30 minute walk daily can help lower blood pressure. Using stress relieving methods such as deep breathing, meditating or yoga can lower blood pressure. Wrongly the article recommends reducing salt to lower blood pressure. Doc explains why lowering sodium intake is bad because it can disrupt the digestive process.

Asserting this is happening because people listened to their doctors and excercised without supplementing. Outlining a study that found knee and hip replacement surgery for pain is worthless. Because it doesn't address the underlying problem of bone loss due to nutritonal deficiencies.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article regarding a study from the University of Zurich. Researchers linked vitamin D deficiency to ten different common health challenges. Also stating that it is very difficult to get enough vitamin D through the diet. Recommending people should spend time in the sun and to supplement vitamin D.

Outlining that some cultures have many more people living to be 100 years old that in the U.S. Contending this because these are poor third world cutlures that still put wood ash in their gardens. Asserting that most of the health challenges Americans are suffering are due to mineral deficiencies. Also stating dams are now used to control flooding in low lying areas stating when floods occur silt (minerals) is spread out.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article regarding sitting for long periods of time. Several recent studies have linked sitting a lot to increased risk of dying from a heart attack or stroke. In one Harvard study found that sitting most of the day increases the risk of dying of a heart attack more than 50%. Now other experts are saying standing can lead to "neck flexion" when the chin is lowered to the chest. They say this can lead to bulging discs, nerve compression and neuropathies.

Doug Winfrey and Ben Fuchs discuss a news article on sun screens. A survey from the CDC states that only 14.3% of men and 29.9% of women use sun screens on a regular basis. Outlining the differences between UVA and UVB rays and why everyone should be protecting themselves from the sun. Ben vehemently disagrees contending that the chemicals in sun screens are poison. Stating that if you were to injest a sun screen it would probably kill you.

Dr. Joel Wallach begins the show discussing the different types of pain. Pain from injury, inflammation, headaches and migraines outlining why these exist and some fixes. Explaining that people can use the CM Cream, trauma oil and peppermint oil for injury pain. Also asserting people can use the CM capsules for inflammatory pain.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a warning out from the FDA. The agencies Adverse Event Reporting System data base identified 20 cases of diabetic ketoacidosis, ketoacidosis and ketosis in people taking SGLT2 inhibitor diabetic drugs. All of these cases required trips to the emergency room or hospitalization. The drug designed to cause blood sugar to be secreted in the urine. Unfortunately these drugs can cause dangerously high levels of ketones (blood acids).
