The Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office is investigating the death of 42-year-old Gilroy man. At about 10 p.m. on Sunday, officers responded to the 7400 block of Chestnut street to reports of an intruder in a backyard. Upon arrival a suspect fled on foot and was chased across rooftops before possibly falling. As officers attempted to apprehend him he became combative. Several non lethal attempts to sub due the man including deployment of a taser were used.. Resuscitation attempts were unsuccessful and the man was declared dead at an area hospital.
