A 59-year old Gilroy man was sentenced to probation today for working as an illegal contractor. Ephraim Galindo was placed on probation for three years and was ordered to serve five days in jail. He was also charged with failing to provide worker’s compensation insurance. He now has to pay $3,000 in fines, maintain worker’s compensation insurance for all employees and was ordered not to contract without a valid Contractor’s State license. Galindo was busted last October when he was found advertising his contractor’s services on the MontereyCraigslist website for tile and plumbing work.
