a grant has been awarded to gavilan college to fund science, engineering, technology and mathematics. the grant supplies 1.2 million dollars per year for five years to fund the programs for hispanic low income students. gavilan college is one of 34 california community colleges to receive the grant. the u.s. department of education awards the grant to colleges with a more than 25 percent hispanic enrollment.
